When it comes to weight’s connection with health some people misunderstand the states of health. How is health related to weight and why is it so hard to lose the weight? When a person follows all the rules, stays disciplined on a diet, and does the recommended amount of exercise, problems in health can still arise. What happens is they lose pounds/inches for a while and everything plateaus. The weight loss is stagnant, the scale does not go up, but it does not go down anymore. So what do you do about it? You visit the local dietitian and ask what has happened. The dietitian assess your problem, and then they put you on a stricter diet just to rule out the factor of weight. You return some time later and no progress has been made. The dietitian visits another possibility and asks you what is going on in your life? Is there anything specific going on in your life? Your first thought is “What does my personal life have to do with my difficulty losing weight”? The dietitian then explains to you that your well-being has more to do with being healthy and losing weight rather than just weight alone. The dietitian also states that, “the problem of losing weight is not the underline problem. Your weight can be effected by stress level, or trauma stress levels. It could be your hormones, or genes (which you have no control over, it is just the way you were born)”. We know your activity level and nutrition are up, sleep plays a big part in weight loss. The most important aspect to consider is your mental state of mind, and your emotional state of mind. These two, specifically emotional state can have an indirect, negative effect on your health that can stale your weight loss and also cause you to gain more weight. Weight is less of a problem if weight is more of a side effect of other health issues.

Emotional state of mind can be negative toward your health.
How can your body’s health be affected by your emotions?
Your emotional state of mind plays the largest indirect effect on your health. In connection with your body, your emotions receive a signal from your body given off when times of stress or pressure arise follow your example when it comes to how it reacts when times of pressure. In high times of stress, dissatisfaction’s with one self can come out of nowhere. For example, binge eating disorders form when you are an emotional eater. When things go wrong food is your comfort making things okay.
